Welcome to the Anglican Parish of St George, Wakefield
Welcome from Archdeacon Godfrey Mawejje
I welcome you to “The Anglican Parish of St. George, Wakefield” church website. We are an exciting, vibrant and growing congregation, which has nourished God’s people since 1904.
I am privileged to have been part of the team since 2000. I trust that our website will be a means for us to build a good relationship with you and to keep you informed of what is happening, and how you can participate fully in the life of our church. May God’s blessings be with you and in all that you do.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing: it is the gift of God.” – Ephesians 2:8
CONGRATULATIONS MAWEJJE
Mawejje has been the priest of St. George, Wakefield and St. Clements, Mapleton for 25 years and also celebrating being in the priesthood for 40 years.

IN NEED OF A VISIT OR PRAYER?
If you are in the hospital, please let us know. With the Privacy Health Information Act (PHIA) that is in effect, we have no way of knowing that you would like a visit, unless you tell us. The Hospital will not call us unless you specifically ask them to do so. This is also the reason that we hold people in our prayers silently and only use their names if they personally have given permission for us to do so. This is not just a matter of law, but also one of respecting people’s privacy. Please contact Mawejje or any member of Vestry, or have a family member advise if you are in need of prayers or a visit.
